Delete your CoinScan account

There are two ways to delete a CoinScan account. Both remove exactly the same data.

In the app — faster

Settings → Account → Delete account.

You will be asked to confirm your password. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

By email — if the app is not to hand

Write to backstretchernew@gmail.com from the address the account was created with, with the subject “CoinScan account deletion”.

We delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm.

What gets deleted

The account itself: email address, name, password hash
All linked devices and sessions
The collection backup held on the server
Counters of scans used
Any wrong-identification reports you sent

What stays

The collection on your phone is not deleted. It is stored locally, and the account was only ever needed for the backup and the scan count. The app keeps working without signing in.

To erase that as well, uninstall the app.

Delete the backup only, and keep the account

Collection → Backup → Delete backup from server.

This erases the copy of your collection held on the server and nothing else. The account, the scan counter and the collection on your phone are untouched, and you can upload a new backup at any time.

Timing

Deletion from inside the app is immediate, whether you delete the account or only the backup. By email, up to 30 days. Copies held in database backup snapshots are erased within 30 days.
